Askada Farm describes farming as a family tradition passed down through generations. The figs are grown in the Kymi region, where the local Aegean microclimate is presented as part of their distinctive character. Cultivation is carried out without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, using sustainable farming practices.

The Kymi fig is identified as a Protected Designation of Origin product. Its PDO designation recognizes the limited Kymi growing area and the traditional drying process associated with these figs.

Traditional askada preparation

Beginning in August, ripe figs are hand-picked, split open and placed on wooden frames to dry under the Greek sun. Once dried, two uniform figs are carefully brought together in the signature embraced askada shape. The process is carried out without sulfur or preservatives.
